Alicia Thompson

Hairstylist

Alicia joined the Nova Vita Salon Team almost 4 years ago after assisting various senior stylists. Nova Vita captured Alicia’s heart and she truly felt it was the best place for her to grow as a stylist. Alicia is passionate about the salon industry and is always looking to learn and master the new trends. Certified in Brazilian Blowout and NV’s Hair Bling (Available in Feathers, Crystals and Tinsel), Alicia also attends monthly education classes at Nova Vita. Although Alicia offers the full spectrum of cut and color services, her niche is with curly hair. Alicia’s main goal is to listen to each client’s needs and wishes and to provide a hairstyle that fits into every aspect of their life. “Regardless of age, everyone deserves the perfect hairstyle to suit their lifestyle.”-Alicia Thompson. When asked what her favorite quote was Alicia preferred to keep it simple, as the most important things we learn in life come from childhood…. Allison Escalante

Esthetician

Allison joined the Nova Vita team in late 2010. With a true passion for the industry, Allison gives each client 110% of her energy and focus. She is both a skilled Esthetician and Make-up Artist, with extensive experience in the Bridal industry. Allison’s playful, relaxed attitude is comforting to worry-some brides, and has made her a quick favorite among clients in Nova Vita’s Spa.

Charise Tucker

Hairstylist

Charise has been a stylist for over 10 years, and is certified in Hairloc extensions and Brazilian Blowouts. She believes highly in continued education and is always up on the latest trends. Charise was featured on Style Network’s “Split Ends” and has been featured in Inland Empire Magazine. When asked what she loves most about the industry, Charise says, “I love all aspects of cosmetology but if I had to choose I think my real passion would be change, whether it be from taking someone from brown to blond with color, or from short to long hair with extensions… I just love seeing the look on clients faces when they see their new look for the first time!”

Christel Anderson

Hairstylist

Christel has been a stylist for over 28 years in Orange County. With extensive training by Vidal Sassoon & Toni and Guy academies, Christel can create virtually any look a client desires. Christel also earned her certification in Brazilian Blowouts as well. Although, she has a diverse set of clientele and experience with all hair types, Christel specializes in fine hair. Her passion is in building lasting relationships with her clients, who have come to trust Christel as an expert in her field.

Jeanette Sjoholm-Medina

Hairstylist

Jeanette is an experienced stylist with over 28 years of experience. Spending most of her time as a stylist in the Orange County market, Jeanette has built a diverse clientele in the OC community. She was trained by both Vidal Sassoon and Toni & Guy academies, and has a true love for the industry.

Katerina Bisbikis

Owner & Esthetician

Katerina became a licensed esthetician in 1995, and after 11 years in the industry, found herself at a turning point in her life. She had been a practicing esthetician at the Tiffany Kim Institute in Chicago but was looking to do more with her life and career. She wanted to be able to give back and be a part of the philanthropy that was so much a part of who she was. Literally, with the flip of a coin, Katerina made the decision to leave everything she knew in Chicago and move to California. Landing in Orange County, Katerina joined the Spa Gregories team as an esthetician and built an iron-clad list of clientele. Her warm European charm drew customers from all over Orange County. Still searching to fulfill her passion, Katerina took a leap of faith in January 2006 when she left Spa Gregories to open Nova Vita Salon & Spa in Tustin. Katerina’s goal was simple. She wanted to give back to the community that had supported her by creating a unique beauty haven that was unpretentious and community driven. Today she is a proud owner of one of the most prominent salons and day spas in Orange County, CA.

Katrina Baker

Hairstylist

Katrina describes herself as a passionate and dedicated hairstylist who has been blessed with an exceptional talent for doing hair. She regularly seeks further education in order to be up-to-date on the latest trends. Educated by the Vidal Sassoon academy and skilled in Schwarzkopf hair color, Katrina is committed to making each client look and feel their best. She caters to a diverse range of clientele and has a portfolio which displays her experience with virtually all hair types.

Melinda Giugno

Hairstylist & Director of Salon Education

Melinda Giugno was born and raised in a family of hairdressers. At the tender age of 16, Melinda committed herself to the craft and began training at Vidal Sassoon, Toni & Guy, Paul Mitchell and Sebastian Academies. Through the guidance of many prestigious mentors, Melinda has become a celebrated hairstylist in Orange County and one to watch in the salon industry. Her passion and enthusiasm for the industry coupled with her client-first approach to building her business has served as an inspiration for others in the field. Melinda truly believes in the power of continued education and has had advanced training at various academies with certifications from: Vidal Sassoon, Toni & Guy, Paul Mitchell, Sebastian, Redken, Lanza, Bio-Ionic,Yuko, Bumble & Bumble, Goldwell, Framesi, Kadus, Aveda, Brazilian Blow Out and Brazilian Keratin Treatment. Melinda is also an expert colorist with exceptional knowledge which she’s brought center stage for platform stylist work across the country. Additionally, Melinda has been a National Color Educator for Lanza; competed in state and national hair competitions; is a Network Educator for Bumble & Bumble; and has been certified by the American Board of Certified Hair Colorists for over 20 years. “I love to motivate, inspire, and share my knowledge with other stylists who have a passionate drive to be the best.”-Melinda Giugno

Oscar Villegas

Hairstylist

Oscar is a senior stylist at Nova Vita, having been in the industry 21 years. Oscar absolutely loves the hair industry as it is the perfect creative and artistic outlet for him. Oscar’s fun loving nature captivates his clients as well as his fellow stylists. Oscar has done platform stylist work, taking 3rd place in Nationals and 2nd place in Superstyle (twice!). Additionally, Oscar has worked on celebrities such as Elizabeth Hurley and has done various work in the bridal industry. Educated by Vidal Sasoon, Toni & Guy, Paul Mitchell and the Big Sexy Academies, Oscar is always on the cutting edge of hair trends. Giving back is an important part of Oscar’s life and a true commitment of his. Oscar volunteered once a week for three years at ASF in Costa Mesa, which is a foundation helping people living with AIDS. Oscar’s mantra is “If it ain’t becoming to you, you better be coming to me.” Oscar is also known as Burrito, from the Shrek movies by Dreamworks.

Randi Burks

Hairstylist

Randi has been a stylist for over 12 years at Nova Vita. Initially Randi was a client at Nova Vita and was inspired so much by her hairstylist that she decided to become one! After completing extensive training at Paul Mitchell and Toni & Guy academies, Randi joined the Nova Vita team. Randi is known for her precision haircuts, stunning updo’s and her exceptional work on curly hair. Additionally, Randi is a competitive bowler and is a mother to her darling kitty, Casper and precious pooch, Lucy.

Young Karns

Hairstylist

Young was trained in Barbering in her home country of S. Korea at the age of 16 and worked there until coming to the United States and Graduated from “Elite Progressive School of Cosmetology in Sacramento 1994. Elite was a cutting edge school that taught current and innovative cutting and coloring techniques by bringing in top industry professionals such as the Vidal Sassoon Academy as well as educators from the top Color Companies. This launched Young into her obsession with becoming a top stylist specializing in advanced cutting techniques, Color education and Color Correction. Young’s experience at Barbering gives her a unique flair combined with the education received at the Vidal Sassoon Academy, Toni & Guy (TIGI), and other institutions and seminars over the years. She has an uncanny ability to fuse someone’s personal style with her expertise in Cutting and coloring. With over 33 years of experience in the industry, Young is a pillar of Nova Vita Salon & Spa. “It’s been very gratifying to look back and see what kind of career I have shaped for myself. I am very proud of what I have accomplished. It’s been quite stressful at times but I wouldn’t give it up for anything. I have a wonderful clientele, some of which have been with me for 16 years”.- Young Karns
